FAQ's

Manufacturer Direct
"Am I buying manufacturer-direct?"
You can feel comfortable using your new whitening kit because you are buying directly from the manufacturer. There are no distributors or resellers between you and the company that is actually making the gel. The laboratories of Bio-Medical & Pharm. Mfg. Corp. have been in continuous operation and open to the public since 1974 here in in Houston, Texas.

Our gels are made in our own facility, packaged by our own people, and shipped by our own carriers.

Product Safety
"Is whitening safe?"
YES! Studies from the Academy of General Dentistry, (AGD Impact, April 1998, p.23), have proven bleaching to be safe and effective. A small percentage of people may experience some tooth sensitivity and gum irritation, which disappears once you stop using the product or by decreasing the amount of time you bleach your teeth. Our MediWhite™ process is very safe. Over 3,000 cases were studied by the American Dental Association producing no negative effects on the enamel or dentine. That's why 95% of all cosmetic dentists use our exact same process, because nothing gets teeth whiter, safer.

Gel Strength
“I have bought gels from [an online discount site] they were not as strong as they were labeled. How strong is your gel?”
A word of caution. Our gels really are the strength we say they are so BE CAREFUL. Don’t treat our gel the same as you would from a discount store. They are NOT the same thing. Our gels are made to exacting specifications in an FDA-registered and inspected facility with an excellent public record. We have been making these gels for nearly 40 years and we do not compromise quality. The 38% gel you buy today will be exactly the same as the one you bought 10 years ago. Just as strong. Just as potent. Just as effective.

Gum Blanching (Turning White)
“My teeth and gums are very sensitive. When I tried your 38% gel, my gums turned white in the 20 minute treatment period. I didn’t use the Vitamin E swabs. Did I do something wrong? Will my gums go back to normal?”
Don’t feel bad. We all make mistakes. Yes, you left out an important part of our professional-strength kit. The Vitamin E should be applied to dry gums in order to seal them so they don’t get bleached along with the teeth. The gum whitening is actually a mild burn that should heal in 1-2 days. Brush gently while your gums are healing and try again in a week or so.

Here’s what you need to do. Assemble your trays, affixing the whitening accelerator to the tray if you have one. Apply a very small amount of gel to the inside-front of the trays where your teeth will touch. Set aside. Dry your gums and apply the Vitamin E to the gums only, not the teeth. Insert the tray pressing your teeth into the gel and turn on your whitening accelerator. Be careful not to look into the light or you will see spots temporarily. It’s very bright! If you experience any pain in less than the normal treatment duration for 20 minutes, stop immediately and note the time you had the trays in and subtract 1-2 minutes. This is your personal treatment time for your sensitive gums.

It is important to note that everyone’s mouth is different and everyone has a different pain threshold. DO NOT EXCEED the 20 minute treatment duration indicated and if you must shorten that time to avoid discomfort, then do so.

Switching Treatment Kits
“My friend used your 38% CP gel and got great results. I tried it too and I just couldn’t tolerate the pain. my friend didn’t have any pain at all! Does that mean I can’t use my kit? Where do I go from here?”
Everyone is different. Your friends may simply be less sensitive than you are. We guarantee our products to be safe and effective so if the 38% gel is too strong for you, call 800.231.7157 for your free replacement. For sensitive customers, we recommend our 22% gel which acts more slowly and is very gentle. You will get the same results but it will take a longer period of time. We want you to be happy with your results but we don’t want you to experience any pain. Pain is not normal and you should stop treatment if you feel any pain.

Not Available In Stores
“I am trying to find your product in my local stores but I can only find it on Amazon. Where can I find your gel in my area?”
MediWhite is only available direct from the manufacturer or from your dentist or orthodontist who gets theirs directly from the manufacturer. Your dentist can give you access to our Physician-Only kit after your next scheduled visit by giving you their authorization code. You cannot buy the Physician-Only kit without an authorization code.

We do sell on Amazon, but we receive the orders in our manufacturing facility where the gels are made and where we ship from our cold-room to you the next business day.

Tooth Pain
“I have very sensitive teeth and peroxides give my teeth…I don’t know how to say it really…electrical zingers I think they’re called. Why is this and what can I do to stop it?”
You are not alone! Nearly 25% of the population is sensitive in this way. About 5% can’t use peroxide gels at all because of this effect, but we have a solution. Our Professional and Physician-Only kits contain a product called Remineralizing Gel. After treatment, brush with this gel to remove excess gel, re-seal the surface of the teeth, strengthen the teeth, and reduce treatment sensitivity.

How the Remineralizing Gel works gets a little technical so bear with us here. Your teeth have tiny pores or tubules leading through the enamel down to the nerves living in the center of each tooth. These tubules allow positive and negative ions to flow rapidly to the nerve so you can sense when your teeth are damaged or broken. Peroxides also flow rapidly through these tubules giving you deep whitening, but also “short-circuiting” the nerves without actually damaging the teeth. You sense pain when there is no damage present. The Remineralizing Gel “plugs up” these tubules with Potassium Nitrate which acts like a wax that limits how much peroxide can penetrate the tubules. With reduced penetration, you have slightly reduced whitening but significantly reduced sensitivity.

Non-Peroxide Gel Effectiveness
“Why don’t you have any non-peroxide gels?”
When our researchers compared peroxide gels to non-peroxide gels, the difference was obvious. Even the strongest non-peroxide gel was only about 10% as effective as our weakest peroxide gel. The MediWhite brand is dedicated to professional-strength whitening that simply can’t be achieved with non-peroxide gels.

Non-peroxide gels are a case of wishful thinking. Yes, they are slightly effective, but there are many stories on the Internet calling them “remarkably effective” and “superior whitening” but this simply isn’t true. Don’t trust us. Do what our researchers did. Buy both and try them side by side. The results will speak for themselves.

Treatment Following Office Visit
“I went to my doctor for in-office whitening and got your Physician-Only kit online a few days later. When should I start using it?”
After in-office whitening you shouldn’t need to perform any whitening for 3-6 months unless you have stains you dentist just couldn’t remove in one sitting. If you do have deeper staining, you can begin your 3-week whitening regimen 1-2 weeks after your in-office whitening. Repeat your treatment every 6-12 months for a movie star-bright smile.
